Meet Our Inspirational Team
President: Warren "Wozz" Houston
Warren "WOZZ" Houston was elected President at the 2023 AGM to replace outgoing President Paul Nickless. Warren is a an accomplished selling artist in many mediums. He is also a drummer/percussionist of over 50 years experience and is currently resident drummer for Nelson band JUKEJOINT.
"As incoming President, I have “very large shoes to fill”, but I will do my very best to  continue to “grow the Club” and have it recognised as an even stronger member of the  musical and charitable community in the area.
 Im thrilled to have Steve Mitchell take my former position as Vice President  and am  looking forward to working alongside him"
Vice President: Steve Mitchell
Steve is not only one of our most well known singer/songwriters he is a slide guitar maestro! Many will remember his band Human Kindness. Steve brings his experience
to the table and is involved in the house band and as a soloist who can jam with anybody if you give him a key and hum the first line! Steve will support Warren as required and assist on the events team.
Secretary:  Annie Henry
Annie is the 'rock' we all lean on when it comes to the admin side of the club. Many will know her as a key member of The Boathouse & the Nelson Croquet Club. With her partner Max (also a musician) they are key supporters of club nights and events. Her experience in all things 'committee' and 'administration' in other organisations has been instrumental in your club being set up correctly and run smoothly.

Treasurer: Kim Scanlen
Kim has recently re-located to Tasman from Tauranga where she was an avid supporter of the local music scene. Kim also loves the outdoor life and loves the gypsy life in her house bus aptly named Keb Mo (one of her favourite blues artists).
Kim was elected Treasurer in 2023 and brings her experience in corporate administration to the table. Already she has organised the clubs accounts and business with Xero and has everything ship shape for a smooth journey.
Committee Member: Jak Karaitiana
Jak is one of Nelson's most well know musical identities, playing in many band over the years, such as The West Coast Blues Band & Sun City Soul. He is on the Events Committee and is also an experienced sound man looking after the clubs sound on event nights.
Committee Member: Ivan Outram
Ivan is well known from the West Coast and beyond. He is leader of The West Coast Blues Band and one of the most talented guitarists in any genre. Ivan and his band members are regular performers at The Barn
both as members of the house band (The Barnstormers) and as individual players.
Committee Member: Alister Gunn
Alister is a longtime Nelsonian, guitarist and music fan, particularly of blues.  He is a keen supporter of the Club and for promoting the blues genre in the Top of the South through live performance, and for helping musicians of all levels and ages to develop and showcase their talents.
Committee Members: Denny & Sue Allan
Denny is a foundation member and lead singer in local blues/R&B band Jukejoint as well as a brilliant solo entertainer. His wife Sue brings her knowledge of teamwork to the table and is a great ‘people person’.
Committee Member: Hadyn Olsen
Hadyn is a foundation member and guitarist in local blues/R&B band Jukejoint.  Hadyn also started The School Of Blues for the club now ably assisted by a support team from the club.
